"Chris: I haven’t tried the rose yet, but the syrah/petit verdot (2008) is exceptional. Here’s what I wrote: dense, concentrated, nicely balanced, good structure, long finish and good ageing potential – a very complete wine. For what it’s worth, I would put this in the top tier of NZ syrahs. It has more weight than most HB syrahs, is less overtly peppery, and put me in my mind of the very best Aussies (the ones with finesse rather than brute force). Thanks for the opportunity to enjoy it. Regards, Karl du Fresne"
"I tried the Silk Rose and I have to say, yes, I gave it 100 out of 100..!" John Hawkesby
